Samaritans Mumbai is a Suicide Prevention Helpline service, providing emotional support to those in depression, distress and despair.
It works to raise awareness about mental health and promote mental well-being.
The services are provided over phone; face-to-face, at the address; and over email.
Samaritans Mumbai is a non-profit organization run purely by volunteers.
All services are free of charge.
Samaritans Mumbai was the First branch of The Samaritans, UK, to be established outside of England. It has formerly been known as Samaritans Bombay and Samaritans Helpline.
Samaritans Mumbai has been actively working in the field of mental health and striving to support those in need of help, since 1968. It is a fully qualified member of Befriender India, under the umbrella of Befrienders Worldwide, and works with its sister organizations in India, and around the world, for this cause.
What you can do
- Talk to a trained volunteer over phone .We guarantee complete anonymity and confidentiality between you and Samaritans Mumbai.
The helpline is open 7 days a week, betweem 3pm and 9pm.
- Meet a volunteer at the centre and talk face-to-face.
It is recommended that you call the helpline and take an appointment to meet a volunteer.
The centre is open for door calls, 7 days a week, betweem 3pm and 9pm.
